What is the difference between FCL and LCL

The container is a great invention of the shipping industry. So what is the difference between FCL and LCL

A large number of foreign trade exports are basically seaborne. Shipping is cheaper than other means of transportation. The common loading body in shipping is a container.

The success of the container is to establish a standardized transportation system for cargo transportation. On this basis, the world-wide standardization of ships, ports, routes, loading and unloading, roads, transfer stations, bridges, tunnels, and multimodal transportation is established, which greatly improves the transportation of goods. Efficiency and high utilization rate

Two common methods of shipping containers are platter and entire cabinet. This article mainly introduces these two different container transportation methods.

Definition of platter and entire cabinet

Assortment means that the cargo owner consigns less than the entire box. The agent (or carrier) sorts the goods and assembles the goods to the same destination in the same container. There are things from different owners in a box, so it is called a platter.

Assortment can be divided into straight line spelling or spelling, which means that the goods in the assortment container are loaded and unloaded at the same port, and the box is not opened before the goods arrive at the destination port, that is, the goods are in the same loading and unloading port. The transportation period is short, convenient and fast. Spell check means that goods in the same container are shipped to different ports. Because you need to load and unload at the shipping port and other transportation flights, the time limit will be relatively slow, so please pay attention to the spelling check.

The whole box is the whole box, all called fcl (full container loading). The entire box and the platter are just the opposite. The goods in the entire box are shipped to the destination port by only one shipper, so the entire transportation process is relatively simpler than the platter. The consignor is responsible for packing, counting, loading, and sealing the goods in the entire box. The unpacking of the whole container after transport to the port of destination is generally carried out by the consignee.

The difference between full box goods and packaged goods is mainly manifested in the following aspects.

Different forms

There are three forms of platter

1. One consignor corresponds to multiple consignees

2. Multiple shippers correspond to one consignee

3. Multiple beneficiaries correspond to multiple beneficiaries

All cabinets: one consignor corresponds to one payee.

As long as the appearance of the container is similar to the packing time, the lead seal is complete, and the carrier has completed the transportation responsibility. Therefore, the bill of lading for cargo transportation must usually include the "shipper's packing score and seal" clause.

Process difference

Packaged goods: After the carrier receives the goods, it is classified according to the nature and destination, and the goods of the same destination and nature are packed into the same container for transportation.

Full container cargo: the consignor is responsible for packing, counting, and filling in the delivery invoice, and the goods are sealed by the customs. The unpacking of the full box of goods is generally handled by the consignee, or the carrier can be entrusted to open the box at the freight station, but the carrier is not responsible for the loss of the goods in the box or the difference in the goods. Unless the cargo party is indeed the carrier responsible for the damage, the carrier is responsible for compensation.
